DSDT’s curriculum has attracted the attention of technology industry leaders wishing to offer substantive career opportunities to native Detroiters. Their investments are critical in the resurgence of our local economy. For anyone desiring to excel in tomorrow’s tech driven landscape, DSDT is the place for you.
To enter any course offered at DSDT, you must:
- Have earned an acceptable high school diploma, GED® equivalent, or foreign secondary school equivalent. If you currently don’t meet this requirement, you can arrange to take the GED through your state’s GED administrator’s office or search for the nearest GED testing center.
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or hold an approved, valid visa if residing in the United States.
- Complete all required forms for admission.
Transfer Credit
As part of your admission, and depending on your grades and/or scores, prior coursework from regionally accredited or nationally accredited degree-granting institutions, or the credit earned through a national testing program such as the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)®, DANTES or Advanced Placement, may be evaluated and considered for academic credit.

The State of Michigan will not provide a certificate of completion or award a diploma to any student that has been convicted of a crime; committed any act involving dishonesty, fraud, or deceit; or a crime; committed any act that, if committed by a graduate of the business or profession in question.
Students who are not U.S. Citizens or who do not have documented authority to work in the United States will not be eligible to attend DSDT.
DSDT does not use the Third Step Verification of Eligible Noncitizen Status due to DSDT not currently offering eligibility status to noncitizens.
DSDT, the school, is not responsible for students denied work without proper documentation showing proof of citizenship.
DSDT does not admit students to English-as-a-second language courses.
